Jimmy's Room is a part of a personal project inspired by movies such as "Small Soldiers", "Gremlins" and "Toy Story". Set in the early to mid 1990s, it tells a story of a cursed video game cartridge. When the game cartridge and console come into contact with water, they transform and open an interdimensional portal which lets out an army of tiny, 12 inch, human skeletons on their never-ending quest of terrorizing people for their own, twisted amusement.
I began with gathering light reference, taking notes and then took to Photoshop where I sketched out and explored some room layouts, followed by slightly detailed rough sketches. After this I moved to 3DS Max where I made rough blockouts while making sure my proportions and rough dimensions match to average human height. After this, I went back to Photoshop where I did linework, local colors, detail pass and final rendering.
